New Residents Move from Canmore Alberta to The Ridge in the Comox Valley

Jodi and Michael came to Vancouver Island in 2016 seeking a new community to move to. They wanted to be close to their hobbies of mountain biking and cross country skiing and they wanted to share a home with Michael’s parents, David and Beverley, who are in their 70s.

They looked at both Victoria and the Comox Valley and chose the Comox Valley because of the close accessibility to biking and skiing and because homes were more affordable here than in Victoria. They also liked the fact that the community was smaller.

They chose The Ridge, because they really liked the views, the spaciousness of the neighbourhood and the walking trails. They also wanted to build a legal duplex, with a custom design for their family and they found the perfect duplex lot at The Ridge. They built a bungalow-style home on one side for David and Beverley and a two-storey home for themselves on the other side.

They chose Lawmar Contracting to build their home because of their experience in building custom homes in Courtenay and the Comox Valley for over 20 years. Lawmar Contracting is a family business with husband and wife team of Lawrie and Mary Ann looking after the overall design and finishing of the homes, along with son Adam, a Red Seal carpenter, who leads the teams of loyal employees and sub-trades on the construction site. Michael and his family were very impressed by the open communication and easy to get along with attitude from the Lawmar team.

They really enjoy the friendliness of the neighbours, the parks and trails within the neighbourhood and the orderliness of the community. Also, they enjoy the lack of traffic noise and lack of light pollution.

They are happily settled in their new Lawmar home at The Ridge and are enjoying life in the Comox Valley!

Thanks from: Michael, Jodi, David and Beverley.
